Let's make america great again
“I have nourished and brought up children and they have rebelled against me.” Isa. 1:2b Israel was redeemed by God out of slavery in Egypt. Ex. 12:51 tells us, “And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israelout of the land of Egyptby their armies.” God not only brought them out of slavery but delivered them to a land of milk and honey as Moses said in Deut. 26:8-9, “And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders: and He hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.” Israel had been deeply blessed by God, yet they rebelled against Him. Just as Israel did so America has done. America was founded on Christian beliefs and principles. The very first chief justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, John Jay, was a born again Christian. Yet today, America is a country that is decidedly pagan. America has murdered over sixty-five million (65,000,000) babies. The United States of America has become a bed for the foulest of sins. These sins are promoted as being acceptable lifestyles. Violence is abounding in our large cities. All America is seeking for constant entertainment and material wealth with no interest at all for their spiritual welfare. Our churches are full of materialistic and entertainment seeking pew sitters. Many of our churches are closing their doors either from lack of attendance or a lack of funds. There is no interest in God or spiritual matters. Church members think they are saved and on their way to heaven and are to a large degree those that will never set foot in heaven. There is no respect among the young people for their elders. Kids are living together out of wedlock as though that was the thing to do.
Isaiah continues in verse 3 with, “The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people do not consider.” Israel had become so far from worshiping God that they no longer knew who God was, who owned them. They also did not know where to go to get spiritual food, though an ass knew where their master’s crib was that had food for them when they needed it. Sad that animals with much less intelligence knew more about life than Israel did. Such is the state, today, in America. America is convinced that the “American dream” is to own a home and have financial stability. It is God who is the source of happiness not financial matters.
As we continue now in Isaiah notice what God has to say about Israel, “Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.” Israeli children are spoken of as corrupters. All Israel has forsaken the Lord as well as the young people. In America teens are becoming more and more lawless in their activities. As a result, safety on the streets is at best questionable. America is in love with gambling, pornography, and pleasure seeking drugs (alcohol and marijuana not to mention fentanyl). Many are dying from overdoses. Our politicians are corrupt. Children have no respect for their parents and parents have no love for their children. Asian religion and Islam are becoming more common than Christianity. Christians are living materialistic and worldly lives. Society is being filled with so-called alternate life styles that are heavily polluting America with gross sin and the media is patting all of this on the back.
“Why should ye be stricken any more? Ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment. Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.” Vs.5-8
God had so punished Israel for its sin that they had no produce they could use from their gardens. Their fields were either taken over by strangers or destroyed by them. Israel was in a very sad state. America is also suffering from God’s punishment, though very few recognize it. Our schools are a disaster: there is no morality being taught in the schools. Children are taught they are just well advanced apes. With no moral guidelines these children are committing theft, murder, car jacking, vandalism, and assaulting the elderly. Sickness abounds in America. When COVID hit America was hit harder than most of the other countries in the world.
The food produced for American consumption is full of filth (rat dung, insect parts, and whole insects). Cereals are not fit for consumption. Our food is full of herbicides and insecticides, glyphosate being the worst of them. If one complains to a food company about the filth in the food they might receive a coupon from that company but the company doesn’t change its practices. Employees of these companies sometimes care even less about food quality than the companies do. Some have been caught urinating on the food line. People that need to rent homes often have foreign landlords that care not about the maintenance of the buildings they rent out. Foreigners have been buying up our farmland as well. God has all but given up on America.
“Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.” Vs.9-15
God always leaves a tiny remnant of His people. Israel deserved total destruction from God. Yet because God is very loving and tenderhearted He left them a remnant from which He could rebuild His nation. Israel had so trespassed against God that even their worship of God was so foul in God’s eyes that He could not bear with it. Unfortunately, our churches today are full of the same type of worshippers. Most churches today have turned to contemporary worship styles to get and keep people. These people though are not there to genuinely give their lives over for service to God. They are there to get an emotional high, an experience that they think is a spiritual mountain top experience. Outside the church building, they listen to contemporary Christian music and think because they are listening to so-called Christian music they are being spiritual. Some never read a Bible but depend on their music for their spiritual input. God hates this type of false worship. God wants our love. He wanted Israel’s hearts not their offerings. God wants the love of his saved children, not weak attempts at worship. True worship, Jesus said, was to be in spirit and in truth.
John 4:23-24says, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” Only when the Christian has surrendered all that they are to the full lordship of Jesus will they be able to worship God they way He desires them to worship Him. If you want to make America great again, then the very first thing that you must do is to make sure that you are genuinely a child of God.
God deeply loves His children and as any father would do He chastens them for their sinful ways to bring them back to Him. Heb. 12:6 tells us, “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” Every child of God is chastened when they go the wrong way. If no chastening occurs in your life when you sin then consider this, “But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.” In simple language, if you are not chastised by God for sinful practices then you are not saved: you are not a born again child of God. If this is you, then your first step is to repent of your sin and ask Jesus to come into your heart and life and forgive you of your sin. When accepting Jesus as your Savior the Holy Spirit comes in to dwell in you forever. If you did not notice a change after your decision or didn’t feel the Holy Spirit move in, then it’s time to get a check-up. Get this fixed. Ask Jesus into your heart, repenting of your sin and make Him the Lord of your life.
The second step to making America great again is to surrender your life to the Savior. Rom. 12:1-2 reads, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Notice that Paul starts off beseeching the Romans. He is literally down on his knees begging them to yield everything to God. Paul wants the Romans to experience the full blessing of God in their lives. No greater decision can a Christian make after receiving Christ as Savior than to give everything they are and possess to God. Yes, everything! That starts by not being conformed to the way the world lives. That’s a big NO to worldly wisdom, worldly methods, worldly dress standards, worldly goals, worldly music, worldly literature, worldly TV programs and anything else that is of this world.
Everything in this world is going to be totally destroyed. At the end of the millennial reign of Jesus, the entire heaven and earth will be dissolved in fire. II Pet.3:7 and vs.10 say, “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men……But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night: in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” Yes, everything on this planet will be totally destroyed, burnt up, in fire. God will give to those that are His, a new heaven and a new earth. Rev. 21:1tells us, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” The apostle John records what God had showed him would be at the end of the millennial reign of Jesus. God will, indeed, give His children a new heaven and a new earth. There is no reason to acquire any of this world’s goods. Only what is necessary for basic living should anyone that is Christ’s acquire. Everything in this world will be totally burnt up.
All of God’s children will be rewarded for their works. Paul explains this in I Cor. 3:11-15 saying, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” Only what is done by someone fully yielded to God and accomplished by the Holy Spirit will stand up to the fire. All that is done through fleshly self effort will be burned up. What kind of work are we building today? To make America great again, we need to be building works that will stand up to God’s fire of cleansing.
If we are to make America great again, we must get on our knees and beg God to make us into the kind of Christian that He can use to revive America. Without this America is doomed for God’s full judgment. We are but moments, maybe days or weeks or a few years, away from God calling His church home in the rapture. Afterward, all the earth will experience the great tribulation as God tries the hearts and minds of all mankind. Where do we stand? I choose to give God everything! What about you?
