Song of Solomon 4:12

"A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

This garden with a spring and fountain depicts the Holy Spirit that comes and indwells us as believers.  This glorious treasure of the Holy Spirit is not available to anyone else.  It is sealed up within.  However, it can only be shared when others are invited to come within.  By sharing the Gospel of salvation with others we give them opportunity to see this great blessing and receive their own blessing through the cross of Calvary.

However, we must first show forth the fruit that this glorious blessing brings into our lives.  Only when others see this fruit will they be drawn to gaze upon.  Then will they be ready to accept the invitation to look within and potentially acquire their own special garden of paradise.

The fruit that we can share is the fruit of the Spirit.  "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:  against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23.  To bear that fruit we must walk in the Spirit.  How is your garden today?

"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." Galatians 5:16

"I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them as Thou hast loved Me." John 17:23

Oh what great comfort is afforded in those words!  God the Father loves all believers just as He loves Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.  This love guarantees that God will always come to our aid when we yield ourselves to Him.  No temptation or trial will ever defeat the child of God that is surrendered fully to His Lordship and asks for aid.  God is constantly seeking our betterment.  "No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly." Psa.84:11b.  That which is for our good, He will never withhold.  Where do we put our trust?  Is our trust in our bank account, some institution or person?  Or do we think that we can get through on our own abilities?  To be sure, the only way to victory is through the Lord Jesus Christ.  Why not put our trust in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, His Son?  To do things without the aid of God is to ensure failure.

"For without Me ye can do nothing." John 15:5c.

"Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward." Job 5:7

Life is full of difficulties!  Troubles are everywhere.  It is good that we have a God that cares greatly for us.  Those who have not the Savior must face all the troubles, heartaches, and difficulties on their own.  The Christian has God Almighty at their side.  This is good for the believer that loves the Savior and wishes to live a godly life in honor of the Savior will suffer persecution adding to the difficulties of this life.  Paul said, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."  II Tim. 3:12.  Serving the Lord Jesus Christ comes with all the roughness of war.  We fight against very powerful enemies.  Fortunately, they are no where near as powerful as our God, who dearly loves us giving us grace, mercy, and peace.  Grace is our powerhouse.  Mercy is our protection.  Peace brings us calm and the joy of the Lord.  When the battle has been long and rough, take time apart and rest in God's loving arms, spending quality time with Him.

"And He said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while."  Mark 6:31a

“So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and He hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 45:8.

“But God” is a statement that we need to pay close attention to. Joseph’s brothers wanted to get rid of him because of the dreams that Joseph had. Those dreams placed Joseph as ruler over his brothers, something that his brothers clearly did not want. The result was that they sold Joseph to a group of merchants that was passing by and those merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar in Egypt. Yet God had a purpose in Joseph being sold in Egypt as a slave. God brought Joseph to pharaoh to explain a dream pharaoh had. As a result of Joseph’s allegiance to God, pharaoh placed Joseph over all in his kingdom. Now as Joseph’s brothers are in Egypt seeking food for their families they come across Joseph who is now second only top pharaoh in Egypt.

Our circumstances in life may be full of difficulty and trials, “but God” has a design in those difficulties and trials that will end up being a great blessing to us. God greatly loves us and only allows those things in our lives that will bring blessing to us. Those blessings could be something temporal or something spiritual, something temporary or something eternal, but they will definitely be a blessing and for our continued good. Always be certain that God intends that all the things that take place in our lives are for our betterment.

“But we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.
